Sweden exchange 2016

The first week after our summer holidays was very exciting. After a long trip our Swedish partners finally arrived in Lübeck (with a delay of four hours!): 22 exchange students and their teachers Eva Lindberg and Fredrik Olsson. After Mrs Keller and Mr Sagebiel had welcomed everyone on the platform, we took our guests home where we enjoyed a great family dinner.

The next day the Swedish guests got to know our school and were welcomed by our principal, Mrs. Yassine. After the school band had played, we showed our partners the school building. In the afternoon the Germans guided the Swedish students around Bad Schwartau and had some free time.

On Wednesday we all met in Lübeck and enjoyed an interesting tour through St. Mary’s church. Afterwards we went to a climbing hall and had a lot of fun together.

On the fourth day we drove to Lüneburg by train. There we visited the German Salt Museum and also had some free time to have a look around the beautiful town.

On Friday the Swedish students went to Berlin alone and had a great day with sightseeing and shopping.

On the last day all families decided on their own what to do with their guests. Because of the sunny weather a lot of them went to the beach or enjoyed their day at Hansa Park.

To celebrate the last evening all Germans and their exchange partners met at the beach and had a lot of fun playing games and sitting together. Because of the warm weather some of us even went swimming in the Baltic Sea!

All in all it was a nice week with lots of new experiences and we hope that we’ll keep in touch and see each other again soon.
